Minutes of the January meeting of the Niagara Secular Humanists

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: North China Buffet, St Catharines

Attending: 9 members and 10 guests

1. Horst Klaus brought the meeting to order and welcomed everyone saying that it was good to see some new faces. Horst reminded all present that annual membership fees for 2010 are $20.00 and that Roy Blake would be accepting undated cheques for a donation towards an advertising fund.

2. Roy Blake read the treasuere's report statin that there was $313.19 in the bank and had collected approxiamately $150 today.

3. Sandro Di Filippo read the minutes of the last meeting.

4. Horst Klaus then introduced Phil Curtins as a longtime and founding member. Horst said that Phil would be giving a talk on climate change that should be of interest to everyone since climate change effects everyone.

5. Phil Curtis gave a talk with a Power Point presentation about climate change entitled Mitigation or Adaptation stressing that we may be the last generation able to do anything about climate change. He also very thoroughly explained how climate change occurs and how humans are affecting the climate. He ended the talk with some solutions to the problem.

6. The meeting ended at 9:00 PM.
